We seek the services of an experienced Marketing Executive to lead the strategic direction of the marketing functions of Cape Union Mart International and its subsidiary Brands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profit by increasing market share through various retail channels, including retail stores and online. The role includes leading the Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, Visual Marketing, and Loyalty and Customer Service teams in the organisation.

This position, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, is based at our Head Office in Cape Town.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the overall marketing strategy to maximize the Company’s strategic and financial goals.
  • Growing turnover through the acquisition and retention of customers.
  • Leading, managing, and developing the leaders (5 direct reports) and team members (34 indirect reports) within the marketing department to ensure high levels of performance, professional standards and career growth.
  • Managing the Brand and Digital Marketing strategy for the organisation.
  • Designing and implementing the Customer Loyalty programme for the organisation.
  • Utilising data to drive business decisions.
  • Partnering with various external agencies and Brand Ambassadors to deliver on the Group’s marketing strategy.
  • Maximising the benefits of our PR Strategy.
  • Effective management of the marketing budget in accordance with the Company’s requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A Post Graduate Degree or qualification in Marketing. A Master’s Degree or similar qualification would be advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years proven experience working in a strategic marketing management role that includes Visual Merchandising, Customer Services, PR and Digital Marketing.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in marketing within a retail environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the digital landscape and social media.
  • A working knowledge of data analytics.
  • Comprehensive experience in leading, managing and developing high-performing leaders and teams.
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft applications with excellent Excel skills.
