The Data Capturer will support the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in meeting all the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the CHAMP programme. This position will be involved in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities at site and community level through the accurate and timely capturing of programme data. The Data Capturer will report to the M&E Coordinator and will be based in Mpumalanga (Witbank), South Africa.

Job Requirements

Key Performance Areas:

  • Ensure receipt of all daily and other reporting forms from sites /communities
  • Ensure complete and accurate data entry and follow up where there are missing data reporting forms, implement data quality controls into CBIMS or any other project database
  • Participate in the CHAMP quarterly review process

  • Participate in data analysis and drafting of related reports and/or presentations
  • Support implementation of the paper-based and electronic client management tools
  • Maintain filling system to ensure secure and organized storage of site reporting forms and M&E documents
  • Participate in creation and review of data collection tools and other client management materials, coordinate the supply, production and distribution of printed M&E tools for all m2m sites/communities
  • Assist the Programme Team as needed including; running data reports to assist with decision making and providing support to site staff through supportive supervision
  • Provide training on data capturing and M&E tools
  • Participate in periodic research activities and evaluations
  • Assists the front desk (Reception) and operations as needed
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by line or any other senior manager
  • Assist linkages and case coordinators with data quality issues and reports to monitor fieldwork


Competencies, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year of data capturing experience
  • Basic administrative and computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Statistical software experience I.e. MS Access and Excel
  • Basic filing experience
  • Fluency in English and another official South African Language
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to meet reporting deadlines
  • Matriculation certificate
