Duties

  • Provide financial administration and procurement administration to the District office and schools.
  • Maintain all the accounting records of the district. Assist with clearing of accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of district budget allocation process.
  • Budget forecasting and reporting through Matlotlo council.
  • Prepare weekly Cash flow inputs (funds requisitioning). 
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the district. 
  • Prepare adjustment budget inputs including virements for the district. 
  • Co-ordinate and distribute payroll control sheets.
  • Responsible for accounts payments and revenue collection. 
  • Assist in with the audit process and clearing of all audit queries. 
  • Report in writing any unauthorized, irregular or fruitless and wasteful expenditure.
  • Assist IDSO’s with all financial administrative aspects affecting schools. 
  • Implement and maintain asset management policies of the department.
  • Link between district and GDF. Manage SLA with the GSSC and all other implementing agencies.

  • Coordination of Risk management processes. 
  • Ensure compliance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations and Accounting principles and Departmental policies, 
  • Financial Delegations and through applicable compliance certificates.

 

Requirement

  • An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7) qualification in Finance/ Supply Chain Management/Accounting/Financial Administration plus a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience at Junior Management /Middle Management level (Assistant Director/ Deputy Director Level) in the financial management and/or supply chain environment. 
  • Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Reference Guide to New Economic Reporting Format and other relevant financial and educational related policies. 
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement and Supply Chain Management.
  • Computer literacy in Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of BAS (Basic Account-ting System), PERSAL and SAP.
  • Excellent written& verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
