Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and developing new merchandise, as well as reviewing existing merchandise, in order to ensure the product offering remains competitive
- By fully understanding the customers’ needs, this person must be able to maximise profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices

- Build and maintain good relationships with staff, suppliers and key functions in the business
- Think in terms of the "big picture" as well as consider specifics and detail
- Assess complex situations and implement workable solutions
- Communicate effectively at all level
- Understanding business trends and target markets
- Strategically influencing product and assortment/range planning, based on historical and forecasted information
- Being able to critically analyse and evaluate data in order to make strategic business decisions, which affect turnover and business growth
- Product development
Requirements:
- A proven track record in buying
- Contributed to growth/profit through innovative and creative ideas
- Good working knowledge of the current computer software packages (knowledge of Excel, Word, E-mail & PowerPoint)
- Experience in sourcing from various sources and countries
- Strong presentation skills
- 3+ years experience in a similar role
- Product development and international sourcing experience
- Works independently
