Position: Personal Assistant to the Executive Mayor (Fixed term contract linked to that of the Political Office Term)

Department: Office of the Executive Mayor

Division: Administration & Governance

Salary: R468 696 - R 617 416 per annum (TCTC)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the diary and logistical arrangements of the Executive Mayor
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing correspondence is actioned in order of priority by the Executive Mayor
  • Create a sustainable positive relationship between the Executive Office and its stakeholders
  • Develop and implement monitoring systems for effective operations of the office of the Executive Mayor
  • Manage and coordinate the administrative functions in the office of the Executive Mayor
  • Draft submissions, memoranda, briefing notes, presentations, reports and other documentation as required
  • Arrange and co-ordinate meetings, workshops, campaigns and events
  • To assist the Executive Mayor to manage and monitoring outputs, workflow and office deadlines
  • Keeping abreast on organizational matters
  • Make a sound judgement on matters that are highly sensitive in nature and handle them responsibly

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • B Degree or relevant equivalent
  • Exceptional Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet & E-mail)
  • Excellent office management, leadership and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and to function effectively under pressure
  • Knowledge of and interpretation of legislative framework, service delivery, imperatives and implementation thereof
  • Ability to understand and observe protocol
  • Experience and understanding of a political environment will be an added advantage
