Duties
- Receiving walk-in clients and handling telephonic reports and enquiries;
- Receiving all reports and recording these onto an electronic database;
- Coordinating the book / register for checking in and out, receipt of equipment and enquiries by contract security personnel;
- Receiving deliveries as well as lost and found items, and tracking down the owners of these items;
- Serving as enquiry and reference point for Stellenbosch University (SU), Tygerberg Campus;
- Serving as contact and reference point wherever the University community requires support or emergency services;
- Managing and monitoring the charging of two-way radio batteries that are in use;
- Monitoring the WhatsApp application and responding to reports and enquiries;
- Recording "In and Out" booking of and condition of logistical resources;
- Monitoring CCTV cameras used by the University;
- Monitoring of the alarm system used by the University;
- Dispatching complaints to an operational member (patrol leader, patrol officer, security officer);
- Updating and keeping the leader abreast of all incidents.

Job Requirements
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12), or equivalent qualification;
- Valid registration with PSIRA;
- Three or more years of proven security and control room experience;
- Grade C to E security training;
- Excellent verbal communication skills;
- Contactable work-related references;
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel;
- No criminal record;
- Good health;
- Willingness to work shifts;
- Willingness to provide extra services as required from time to time;
- Own transport to and from work;
- A valid Code EB driver's licence;
- Related client-service training;
- The ability to compile reports and documents in MS Word and Excel;
- Knowledge and experience in using an electronic reporting system;
- Knowledge and experience in using CCTV camera systems;
- Knowledge and experience in using alarm systems;
- Experience at a tertiary or similar institution.
