Voith Turbo South Africa is looking to employ a Sales Engineer based in Steelpoort, Lydenburg or Pietersburg (not optimum location), Limpopo. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for increasing profitable market share for the geographic area in Limpopo and Mpumalanga East as well as servicing and maintaining the existing client base.

Primary duties

  • Sell and secure orders for engineered industrial products and product services to decision makers in the Mining raw material, steel and related industries through a relationship-based approach.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the market share.
  • Maintain a visible and active presence in the market to facilitate the development of new business relationship and maintain existing clients.
  • Consult with clients on appropriate products to utilize.
  • Negotiate contracts.
  • Proactively promote and sell new product developments.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients.
  • Research and analyse the market to understand key drivers.
  • Provide first line product technical support to the customer.
  • Ensure customers service satisfaction.
  • Customer relationship management (Salesforce) and forecasting and planning of sales.

Ideal qualifications and experience

  • Degree/ diploma in mechanical mining engineering.
  • Five years in mechanical field in heavy Industry (Mining, Metals, Power, Oil and Gas) handling Drive trains (Conveyors, Mills, Crushers, Pumps, Compressors, etc) and knowledge of Shaft to Shaft and Fluid couplings, and their application in Industry.
  • Sound experience in selling, negotiating and concluding commercial service agreements/contracts.


Other Requirements

  • Basic MS Office competency
  • Valid driver’s license (Code B)
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Socially confident/relationship builder and highly persuasive
