Purpose Statement
Accountable for the preservation of Capitec’s public perception and reputation in so far as it relates to Credit. This includes, among other things, engaging with the media, credit industry, regulators, political forums and legal representation. Responsible for regulatory and industry engagements, responses, and submissions on credit-related matters.
Responsible to articulate Capitec’s credit approach to internal and external stakeholders. Responsible to drive “Good for the client” regulatory and industry change within the Credit market. Accountable for change management, to ensure the alignment of internal stakeholders (at an executive and senior management level) with industry and regulatory changes, developments, and compliance requirements. Responsible to drive conduct standards within Credit processes, systems, services, and products.
Experience
Minimum:
- 8 years’ experience within banking or financial services industry
- 3 years’ experience at senior management level and working with executive management
- Experience in organisational change initiatives

Ideal:
- Legal experience especially in the retail credit space
Qualifications (Minimum)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Credit Risk Management
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- A relevant post-graduate qualification in Business Management or Credit Risk Management
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
Knowledge
Knowledge of the following areas are required to perform the job:

- The Retail Credit Industry
- Credit Risk Management
- Credit systems, Applications and associated tools
- Credit Risk calculations, including arrears pricing and provisioning
- National Credit Act
