Job Description
Compliance with SHE standards and operating procedures
- Report all incidents within shift
- Ensure that work area is tidy and safe to work in
- Attend and participate in green area meetings.
- Perform SLAM and ensure that Continuous Risk Assessment books are signed.
- Participate in inspections monthly together with the SHE representative
Comply to quality assurance procedures
- Maintain ISO Accreditation
- Ensure accuracy and precision at all times
- Perform tasks according to the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Conduct quality checks as required and address checks that fall out of specification by taking necessary action
- Respond to non-conformances
- Adhere to PTO schedule
Production
- Follow the daily schedule of work prepared by the shift supervisor
- Prepare a specified number of samples per shift by utilising all equipment to full capacity
- Ensure accurate data is generated, meeting all required QA/QC protocols.
- Meet the set daily target for the method
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as per the shift supervisor’s instructions

General
- Ensure that consumables are collected from the store timeously so that work is not halted
- Forklift Operation if required
People & Teams
- Follow Company Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
- -Matric with Maths and Science
- National Diploma in Chemistry Advantageous
- Basic computer literacy
Role-specific knowledge:
Experience in an analytical laboratory that includes the activities listed below:
- LIMS operation
- Basic equipment verification and operation
- First-level quality control
Technical Skills:
Ability to apply the following skills at a defined level of proficiency required for the role.
- Proven general laboratory experience.
- An understanding and competency of the main routine laboratory equipment namely, Drying Ovens, and Jaw crushers. Boyd Crushers, 5L, 10 or 20L Rotary Splitters, Milling Machines and Micro splitters, Titrations, AAS, Pressure dissolutions and dilutions.
