Job Purpose
To grow, retain and execute on the professional banking offering
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Client
- Identifies new business opportunities and onboards new to bank clients, in order to achieve defined financial budgets, through optimal growth of assets and liabilities, transactional, margin management and revenue streams in line with agreed targets
- Takes into account sensitivities relating to high-profile customers in the business community and their potential influence on business gained or lost for the Bank as a whole
- Based on a client credit profile, makes recommendations on how to structure future lending facilities for clients.
- Proactively anticipates negative impact on portfolio influenced by market conditions; natural courses (e.g. drought); changes in legislation; and macroeconomic conditions.
- Applies discretion to act on client instructions within the defined mandate and escalates where applicable (e.g. client requests an EFT transfer to be made, jobholder may act on the request if within the allocated mandate. Ensures the necessary indemnities are in place to receive instructions from the specific client via email or telephone

Financial Management
- Maintains a healthy link between the balance sheet and income statement by managing the agreed margins at which facilities are made available to clients in the portfolio.
- Ensures that all clients in the portfolio meet the segmentation criteria as per defined parameters.
- Conducts ongoing client reviews and ensures effective client service and delivery of own portfolio financial objectives.
- Maximises bank profitability and ensure value add to customers through cross-selling specifically focusing on wealth and lending opportunities. Manages through use of contribution reports
Risk, Regulatory, Prudential & Compliance
- Analyses, identifies and recommends adaption of operational procedures to minimise risk.
- Completes the required compliance and risk (collateral) training and ensures direct report completes same (where relevant).
- Proactively plans and effectively manages timelines for annual credit reviews for the portfolio within the set timelines.
- Structures and customises credit loan facility options to suit client requirements whilst effectively communicating the parameters and qualifying criteria of said facilities.
Minimum Qualification and Experience

- 5- 7 Years of Relationship banking experience, with exposure to sales/acquisition and ecosystems methodology.
- Experience in preparing and motivating Credit applications is essential
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Experience in sales and relationship management of personal customers to be able to create client value and deep customer relationships
- Knowledge of the bank’s products, services and the Business Clients environment and processes.
