Servest Office Services, a division of the Servest Group has a vacancy for a candidate to work as a service/plant technician.A suitable candidate must have experience in horticulture, and caring and maintenance of plants in a variety of settings. This role is suitable for a candidate in the West Rand areas (honeydew/zandspruit )
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light levels to ensure that they are optimal for plant growth
- Plant propagation by taking cuttings and grafting plants to produce new plants
- Recording data and monitoring crop health to identify any issues or concerns that may need to be addressed by a supervisor
- Monitoring the growth of plants and performing regular maintenance tasks such as watering and fertilizing plants and checking for signs of disease
- Evaluating greenhouse conditions to ensure that they are safe for employees and plants
- Observing plant growth patterns over time to identify any changes in conditions that may affect plant health
- Collecting samples for chemical analysis and performing other tests on soil samples to determine the pH level and nutrient content
- Taking care of plants in greenhouses or nurseries by planting them and caring for them until they are ready for sale or transplantation

Minimum Requirements
- Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum of at least two years of experience in a related role.
- Have experience in a related position, such as a labourer, or in a related industry, such as agriculture
- Must have good communication skills
