G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions has a vacancy for a Regional Technical Manager based at Northern Cape, North West and Mpumalanga Regions, reporting to the National Operations Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which Regional Technical Manager plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:
Main Purpose of Position
Managing Technology for specified geographic regions; namely Northern Cape, North West and
Mpumalanga which includes but not limited to; Adhoc, Routine Maintenance, Projects installation, Sales and Profitability of the Business Unit.
Effective management of the technology contract financial performance
- Manage profitability of contracts with a focus on maintenance,sustainability, cost effectiveness and labor.
Gross Margin Management
- Overheads control (i.e. fleet, overtime, PPE, Expenses,vacancies, leave etc)
- Project and SLA profitability
- Ensuring that claims against the Company are prevented or minimized through regular customer risk assessments.
Existing Revenue Growth
- Manage the contract cash flow and oversight of invoice documentation and accuracy of information
Management of the regions financial performance
- Direct Wage control
- Overtime cost control
- Service/Schedule profitability
- 3 month Forecast,, Cash flow, Debtors, E-works, manage WIP (work in progress), Overdue, Action required jobs, Team efficiency
Effective management of staff
Effective Organization
- Staff turnover analysis, proper allocation of staff to work flow and job requirements.
- Liaison with sub-contractors re-installation requirements
Staff Development
- Succession Planning and Employment Equity
- Employee development training
- Interventions, meeting of employment equity goals and personal development plan
Leadership
- Staff motivation levels
- Ensuring that performance assessments of all subordinate employees are conducted, and corrective action implemented where necessary.
- Ensuring that acceptable standards of behavior at work are maintained by all subordinate employees, as required by G4S’s code of conduct and disciplinary code.
- Ensuring that all disciplinary actions are conducted in compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Effective management of operations
Managing the Maintenance/Project process flow and activities that has a direct/indirect impact on the outcome and success of contract
Client retention and customer service levels
- Ensuring that all required formal customer meetings are scheduled, attended and minuted.
- Customer meetings pertaining to Projects, Bad Debt, SLA, Safety files etc
- Enquire on services completed
- Maintenance of customer relationships (Regular contact and feedback)
Quality Management of Sub-contractors/Ops Process Management and– adherence to quality standard
- Conduct and oversee quality controls and inspections (including sub contractors)
- Sub-Contractors meetings pertaining to PPE, Rates, Invoicing, Work standards, Project plans, Safety files and Payments
Shared Best Practice
- Specific examples of implementation of Regional Technical Managers from other regions
- Effective management of business development function
New business development
- Identifying new business opportunities in the region’s sphere of operations, as well as in terms of growth of business with existing customers.
Competitors evaluations
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the competitor environment faced by the region.
Health and Safety:
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
- Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings/committee representatives/management
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Wear protective clothing all the time

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- Management Diploma or relevant tertiary qualification, ideally within Technology space
- Formal Security Management Training advantageous
- Electronic Security Services Management (3 years – Management or similar)
- Extensive experience w.r.t. implementation of the following systems:

- CCTV
- Access Control
- Intruder Detection
- Time & Attendance
- Experience in Sales of Corporate (Large) Projects
- Control Room Service experience
- Financial Management relative to Security Industry
- Good conceptual interpretation and presentation of Financial and Operational Reports to Executive Management.
