Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
Established in 2010, The Centre of Psychotherapy Excellence (COPE), is a multi-disciplinary treatment programme that lies at the heart of our mental health facilities and specialises in mental health care services. The permanent Psychologist position will require the incumbent to work on a part–time bases and will be based at the Akeso Alberton Clinic. The incumbent will contribute and coordinate all mental health-related activities ensuring quality care and support to patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high-quality therapeutic programs and interventions to both in-patients and out-patients with measurable outcomes
- Conducting daily group therapy sessions
- Management of individual cases and individual therapy
- Conducting individual assessments and client-centred intervention
- Fulfilling administration duties as required by the group practice and HPCSA
- Working as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team
- Attending weekly ward rounds and providing feedback to the team regarding patients’ progress and treatment
- To actively support and engage in Clinical Quality Projects activities and initiatives
- Taking supervision and engaging in regular training to ensure best practice
- Ensuring CPD requirements are met
- Carrying out administrative duties for COPE as required to ensure smooth running of the therapeutic program

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Professional Registration with HPCSA as a Psychologist
- Registered with BHF
- A minimum of 3 years in-patient group experience
- Knowledge and experience with DBT would be advantageous
