The successful incumbent will work with the Head of Communications to support the development and execution of communications strategies that will build constituency networking, increase the uptake of services and raise the voices of communities most impacted by HIV, AIDS, TB, and GBV. We are looking for dynamic, creative, and self-motivated communication professional with exceptional verbal, written, and digital communications skills and an understanding of behavior-change communications strategies.
Responsibilities
- Contribute creatively to the development of communications strategies and content plans for programmes and advocacy campaigns;
- Help create engaging content across all NACOSA’s communications channels – newsletters, website, social media and printed materials;
- Guide and support program teams on behavior change communication strategies to support services and programme demand creation;
- Provide guidance, input, and advice into NACOSA networking communications and advocacy campaigns.
- Build relationships with media and contribute to the creation of key messaging, media site visits, briefing of spokespeople and press releases;
- Provide communications support and coordination at NACOSA and program events, including dignitary visits; and
- Contribute to NACOSA’s internal communications and staff wellness activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrable digital marketing skills, including content creation (photography, video, graphics, copy);
- Knowledge of behavior change and advocacy communications principles and strategies;
- Advanced MS Office and online computer skills (including knowledge of DTP software like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva and website content management systems);
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and support programme beneficiaries;
- Be creative, action-oriented and accurate, with the ability to take initiative and work independently;
- Be fluent in English and another South African language (written and verbal);
- Be willing to travel nationally on occasion; and
- Valid unendorsed driver’s license and minimum 2 years driving experience
