Supervise all staff in the warehouse to ensure that all daily targets are met. Ensure that operations pertaining to picking, checking and packing are supervised and that the relevant policies and procedures are complied with. Responsible for maintenance and ensuring identified providers conduct services as agreed.

Job Objectives
- Control staff attendance every morning
- Conduct disciplinary discussions when necessary and appropriate according to Shoprite procedures
- Conduct meetings every morning to ensure daily goals are met
- Perform personnel administration when necessary
- Ensure that staff complies with the company dress code and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- Scheduling of production staff to ensure proper staffing levels are available to respond to and meet work demands in a productive, cost-effective and timely manner

- Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Monitor and plan workload daily
- Direct supervision of the day-to-day activities in the warehouse
- Check reports on the system regularly and immediately take appropriate action if necessary to ensure all orders are dispatched timeously
- Receive and analyse reports to ensure accurate picking/checking takes place
- Complete daily reports and submit to the relevant Manager
- Minimize overtime costs to the company
- Walk through the Depot and monitor all production
- Ensure that staff comply with health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure all maintenance inside and outside the warehouse is done on a daily basis
- Assist with Hardware Maintenance, assisting with incident reports and software updates
- Assisting with Positill issues
- Ensure services take place on Pest Control, Generator, HVAC system (Aircons), Alarm system and Camera system
- Electronic filing of all Job cards and related invoices for maintenance-related work
- First point of contact in the DC for all maintenance, security and cleaning relating issues
- Follow on all pending maintenance-related issues timeously
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Qualified Post Basic Qualification advantageous
- Logistics/Management Qualification advantageous
Experience
- 3 -5 years experience working in a Distribution Centre
- 2 – 3 years of Supervisory experience
- Maintenance experience
