Purpose of the Job
To ensure the development process of specific products from concept to launch.
Job Objectives
To conduct product development:
- Conduct market research
- Idea generation/Brainstorming
- Identify possible concepts for development
- Identify spot trends
- Identify consumer needs
- Establish competition range
- Conceptualize brief
- Identify possible suppliers

To conduct recipe development:
- Competing product evaluation
- Prototype development
- Sensory evaluation
- Conduct shelf-life test
- Input on and test Packaging
- Costing
To conduct large-scale product development:
- Up-scale of recipe
- Development of recipe
- Sensory evaluation
- Costing
- Shelf-life
To input on the detail regarding packaging and labeling:
- Provide all information labeling and sign-of
- Nutritional analysis
To conduct product specifications and provide info to suppliers:
- In-house recipe system
- Listing of new product
- To hand over-developed product
- Finalise costing - supplier to buyer
- Finalise product item listings
- To launch the new product in the stores
- Determine launch date
- Implement in-store, hand-over training and track product performance

Qualifications
- Diploma/ Certificate from a Culinary school (Essential).
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality (hotel/ Restaurant Management) (Desireable).
Experience
2+ years experience within the food industry (Essential).
