Clinical Nurse (R/N): ICU Trained - Netcare Rosebank Hospital

The Clinical Nurse is a professional who remains responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of individualised and holistic nursing care of a patient, their families or the community, either performed directly or indirectly. The incumbent ultimately coordinates patient care within the concept of the multi-disciplinary health team.

They are also expected to fulfil the role by using scientifically based nursing theories and processes, treating the patients as a physical, social and spiritual individual, and by use of educational and technical means applicable to health care practice.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain professional conduct and standards at all times in accordance with the SANC/Job Standards/Hospital Policies.
• Promote and maintain good working and interpersonal relationships with Management/patients/staff/visitors/doctors and colleagues.
• Co-ordinate nursing service activities with other departments
• Co-ordinate all working activities to accommodate normal hospital routine
• Perform other departmentally related duties and be prepared to rotate to other wards

SKILLS PROFILE

EDUCATION

• A Diploma in Critical Care with current Registrations with SANC in this discipline or equivalent NQF 7 qualification
• Qualification in Critical Care essential

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 Years of Experience in ICU
• Previous Nursing Experience in ICU Environment Essential
• Previous private Healthcare Experience Essential

KNOWLEDGE

• Thorough knowledge of general/specialized nursing theory and practice
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in the highly specialized field
• Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
