Provincial Treasury, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to compile a credible and sustainable main and adjustment budget and to monitor the efficient implementation thereof. This post is stationed in Cape Town.

Key Performance Areas

In-year monitoring (IYM) model:

  • Compilation of provincial model, review, annual implementation, the credibility of monthly information and draft monthly/ quarterly narrative reports;
  • Evaluate inputs of the rollover and revenue retention process;
  • Assist with the implementation and evaluation of inputs for the adjustment budget and the main budget process;
  • Render technical support and training; Handle policy matters related to the job.

Minimum Requirements

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-degree) in Public Finance, Accounting or Economics;
  • A minimum of 3 years of appropriate experience in a financial management environment.

Recommendation

Strong financial background in Public Sector Finance.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following:

  • Financial norms and standards;
  • Medium-term Expenditure framework (MTEF) budget process and procedures;
  • Adjustments Budget/Estimate process and procedures;
  • Basic Accounting System and its structures.

Skills needed:

  • Sound organization; Planning;
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Web applications and Outlook);
  • Communication (written and verbal);
  • Research and Econometric skills.

Remuneration

R 382, 245 per annum (Salary Level 9).
