purpose

Develop and implement HR interventions to support the departments or areas on HR

key responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

  • Guide and advise Directors/HOD’s with vacancies and people moves (Update merch and other departments organograms)
  • Prepare, develop, and update role clarifications
  • Brief the talent acquisition team on vacancies and qualify the role with the relevant recruiter in terms of experience, salary, department, and other requirements
  • Source for candidates and conduct checks where necessary
  • Interview candidates and conduct checks where necessary
  • Prepare offers in consultation with the People Director and line a manager (including CTC packages calculations)
  • Effectively onboard all associates including any training requirements, working together with the relevant Talent development specialists (specific to merch)
  • Assist out-of-town newbies with any relocation arrangements \
  • Promote and maintain EE targets

Trainee Intake

  • Manage the annual trainee intake (buying and planning) including arranging of “Come and see” days
  • Manage the WEP annually (from recruitment to end)
  • Talent Management and Development
  • Identify associates together with line for succession and to support internal growth, taking into consideration EE targets
  • Develop IDP’s for key associates such as those on the Watchlist, HIPO’s, Next Gen and critical skills to ensure succession plans are achieved
  • Monitor and identify training interventions to support line managers with training and upskilling associates
  • Develop content for the development of existing and new line managers in line with individual IDP’s
  • Drive Connect Convo’s with management and line
  • Monitor Connect Convo’s, gather trends and identify training needs in collaboration with line managers
  • Support line managers in performance management
  • Facilitate and manage 180 team leader survey & provide feedback
  • Guide and support line managers with any people concerns or issues
  • Facilitate and assist associates with career guidance
  • In collaboration with Ops Senior HRBP & Kaity, collate the WSP & training budget
  • Drive Security awareness training monthly at the support centre to drive completion

Culture

  • Conceptualise, create, and implement culture initiatives for support centre
  • Facilitate the social committee to create ideas to include in the culture calendar
  • Update and maintain the culture calendar including ideas for the Red Cap Chats
  • Update the Leadership box manually
  • Facilitate and schedule Dreams and Beliefs for all new support centre associates
  • Utilize feedback from the annual culture survey/engagement survey to conduct focus groups and initiate interventions to improve areas of concern
  • Create and send out the newbie mailer every 2 -3 months (depending on the number of newbies starting each month)
  • Constantly update onboarding creative to align with brand look and feel (HR comms to newbies, induction, etc)
  • Employee Relations
  • Implement ER policies and procedures and practices to ensure consistency and fairness across support centre in relevant departments
  • Handle any IR issues for line managers and associates
  • Investigate HR related whistleblower reports
  • Facilitate training sessions like ER training where needed

Reporting and trend analysis

  • Compile monthly board commentary
  • Analyse HR data (People analytics or reports in Excel)
  • Department HR updates to People Director in preparation for Director’s meeting

Benefits and Remuneration

  • Handling queries relating to company benefits and escalating to the group if required
  • Assist and manage death and disability and escalating to the group if required
  • Assist and manage death and disability and IOD claims
  • Handle the HR aspects of retirement
  • Provide SME input on Oracle HCMS
  • Implementation of Oracle HCMS to support center associates
  • Provide monthly payroll input to the HR co-ordinator, which also includes changing of reporting lines

Wellness

  • Attend and provide input on the group wellness committee
  • Roll out and implement any wellness initiatives in support center
  • Arrange counselling for trauma situations
  • EDTA (Young Designers pgm) and STADIO career fairs

Strategy

  • Support the Divisional people strategy by taking on projects in line with key people imperatives to ensure the strategic goals are met. Monitor and implement HR processes to ensure consistency, compliance and minimized risks to the business.

Admin

  • Reconciliation and monitoring of HR Budgets
  • Processing of payments through the DAX system

requirements

Education:

  • Relevant Degree or NQF 6 equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an HR-related role.

Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Knowledge & understanding of HR Policies & Procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant labour legislations (BCEA, LRA, OSHA, BBBEE, EEA).
  • Knowledge pertaining to CCMA processes.
  • Knowledge & understanding of African & international legislation for countries the company trades in.
  • Skills include: Computer literacy, analytics, payroll software (VIP), learnerships (SETA) & business acumen
  • Business understanding of brand, product, customer & retail market.
