Duties and responsibilities
Driving
- Drive and operate the University vehicle within relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Driving and keeping within OHS and traffic regulations.
- Follow general and ad hoc instructions given by line management.
- Daily inspections of the vehicle
- Management of fueling.
Operation and control
- Distribute chemicals to different buildings.
- Drive cleaning staff to designated buildings when required.
- Work programs/schedules completed according to standard operating procedures (SOP) / protocols as set by the division / UFS and signed off.
- Report to line management on any breakages, neglect, or repair requests.
- Assuring that protocol and signoff is compliant.
- Record keeping and signing off done within University Estates UE / UFS procedures / protocols.

- Ensure allocated tasks are within Health and Safety regulations.
- Report any concerns to line management for attention / assistance
- Performs daily safety and inspection checks.
- Follows scheduled programs and/or requests by management.
- Ensures that the University vehicle are safe and securely stored.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle
- Attend scheduled meetings on OHS, and general matters.
- Addressing any breakages, health and safety risk or operational concerns within process and risk management procedures set within the division.
- Ensuring clean and tidy workspaces and service quarters are maintained at all times.
- Clean vehicle regular.
People Management
- Management of personnel assisting in tasks allocated.
- Ensure that passengers abide to health safety regulations.
- Ensure personnel comply with PPE and wearing standard uniform before assigned to work schedule.
- Clear communication with personnel on responsibilities and assisting with guidance, mentoring where required
Quality assurance
- Comply with inspection standards.
- Ensure safe working procedure with equipment.
- Comply with health and safety standards.
- Sign off on program/ schedule completion.
Documentation / Records
- Sign off on check list of vehicle and schedule completion.
- Submit feedback to line manager.
Inherent Job Requirements
- Relevant experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
- A valid drivers’ license.
