G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated cash management solutions, has a vacancy for a Head of Intelligence based at our operations in Centurion, reporting to the Director: Security and Risk. 

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which Head of Intelligence plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

The position requires at least 5 - 10 years’ experience within a similar environment. ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:

Identification of Internal Threats

  • Analyze threats of high risk individuals through: identification of trends; lifestyle audits; intelligence received and intelligence investigations

  • Execute the operational plan of the Risk Division

  • Implement preventative measures to mitigate issues identified and conduct analysis related to modus operandi

  • Conduct pattern analysis 

  • Develop and implement action plans to address intelligence issues to detect unethical conduct

  • Be actively involved in employee vetting and employee suitability checks

Management of Incidents

  • Involvement in intelligence operations focused on identification and arrest of suspects in conjunction with law enforcement agencies

  • Liaising with law enforcement and judicial agencies to coordinate all information received and initiating provocative/covert operation

Intelligence/Information Collection

  • Optimal use of resources to gather information

  • Management of information/database

  • Act on Information received to prevent losses

  • Maintain a good relationship with external sources without compromising company standards and resources.

  • Effective liaison with all business  units internally and externally and all role players in the Cash in Transit (CIT) industry

Data Analysis

  • Analysis of information and incidents as reported on a daily basis.

  • Linking incidents and information and information – scenes, trends, modus operandi, CCTV footage and Analyst Notebook.

  • Obtain profiles of identified, wanted and arrested suspects and provide to relevant investigators.

Police Intelligence And CIT Company Relationships

  • Foster and maintain a professional relationship that could assist in reducing crime.

  • Foster and maintain a close relationship with Sabric.

  • BAC ( Business Against Crime, CIT competitors)

  • Foster and maintain a close relationship with Risk Divisions of clients.

  • Share information with related parties to reduce crime.

Health and Safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.

  • Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks

  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people

  • Discuss all safety incidents on all levels

  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management

  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes

  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace

  • Distribute safety information as and when required

  • Wear protective clothing all the time

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Qualifications

  • Matric, Grade 12

  • Degree/Diploma  in Law/Forensic investigations/Policing / related fields

  • Code B  Drivers License

  • PSIRA Grade E - A

Experience

  • aw Enforcement Background

  • 5 - 10 Years’ Experience in similar role

  • Knowledge of standard company operating procedures

  • South African security legislation

  • Knowledge of Assets in transit

  • Solid experience in intelligence gathering, corporate espionage and theft

  • Strong risk management and investigations experience

Skills and Attributes

  • Computer literate - ability to work on Excel, MS Outlook, Word

  • Communication (written and verbal)

  • Networking

  • Dealing with changing circumstances

  • Attention to detail

  • Analyst Notebook / Online Intelligence system

  • Spider diagrams
